HEVEIN To Record Pre-Production Demo In January
December 21, 2004Finnish melodic thrashers HEVEIN will enter the studio in February 2005 to record a new single. The recording sessions for the band's new album will commence in the spring. An update from the band's official web site on the songwriting sessions for the upcoming CD follows:
"January 15th will be the date when we enter D-studio for a weekend of pre-production with Jarno Hänninen. 11 songs will be recorded with five songs coming off our demos and six new ones. Most of the demo tracks have undergone a major facelift. We have had time to really think what we want these songs to sound like and we believe that they are good enough to be on this debut. We then will have a few weeks to decide which songs will be on the single to be recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Febuary with Nino Laurenne. Mikko Karmila (AMORPHIS, NIGHTWISH) will take care of the mixing. A release date has not been carved into stone yet but there is a rumor that it might be April 11, 2005. We will, as always keep you informed."
As previously reported, HEVEIN recently inked a deal with Spinefarm Records. The group were signed on the strength of their "Break Out the Hammers" EP, which was mixed earlier this year at Sonic Pump studios by Nino Laurenne and mastered at Finnvox studios by Minerva Pappi. A full-length MP3 of the EP's title track can be downloaded at this location.
